A final post on Stalin…

A Russian joke supposedly from the 50s…

A teacher asks his class, ‘Who is your mother and who is your father?’

A pupil replies, ‘My mother is Russia and my father is Stalin.’

‘Very good,’ says the teacher. ‘And what would you like to be when you grow up?’

‘An orphan.’

  1. The joke as I know it goes like this : An inspector comes to a class and asks the children one by one.
He goes to Student 1 : Who’s your mother? “Mother Russia” Who’s your father? “Father Stalin” What do you want to become? “A doctor”.
Pleased he goes to Student 2 : Who’s your mother? “Mother Russia” Who’s your father? “Father Stalin” What do you want to become? “An Engineer”.
Then to the next : Who’s your mother? “Mother Russia” Who’s your father? “Father Stalin” What do you want to become? “A orphan”.

It’s a longer version but I like it’s rhythm. It’s part of the charm.

  2. Not bad, not bad.
